About Giclee Prints
A giclee, pronounced (zhee-CLAY), is an individually produced, high-resolution, high-fidelity reproduction done on a special large format printer. Giclees are produced from digital scans of existing artwork. Colours in a Giclee print are so vibrant and true that it is often mistaken for the original artwork.
Traditional lithographic prints have limited lifetime expectancy in retaining colour and unlike other printing methods, each Giclee image is individually produced. Giclee papers and inks are produced to be archival; depending on each print's display environment (e.g. moisture, heat, intensity of light), they should last over a hundred years!
We recommend that you treat your Giclee print the same as any original painting or watercolour. It should be protected from water and should not be place in direct sunlight. Giclees printed on paper should be frame-mounted behind glass.
